Imagine having a road map that helped you navigate some of life’s hardest times. It’s not a matter of if you will go through valleys but what to do when you find yourself there. Many of us get stuck, give up, get lost, and throw in the towel in the valley. But what if I told you that the valley is meant to develop you and strengthen you not paralyze you. What if I told you there is a mountain top on the other side of this valley you just have to get to it.

In the Valley is a book that walks you through some of life’s hardest valley’s that I have encountered. Death, abuse, neglect, abandonment, rejection, and suicide attempts, are just a few of these valleys. I am not just here to share my story, but give you key tools on how to navigate those hard times and keep going to get to your mountaintop. I want to show you how to experience God in the midst of your valley experience. I aim to change your perspective about where you are and why you are there. This will encourage you and lift you to help you keep going so you can become all that God has called you to be. Not only will you be able to get through the valley, but you will be better than you were before because of all the things you learned in the valley.

Shanyi McQuilla-Robinson found her passion for writing at a very young age. She was in 2nd grade when her gift shone its light in the writing of a story about her ailing grandfather who passed away.

She would go on to use her words throughout her life to helping her cope with the trials she would eventually conquer and encourage those around her through her own stories. It was her passion for writing and the gift of storytelling that God would use to get her into college, help her lead in nonprofit organizations, and speak to audiences about not giving up when life gets hard. It would be in college at Hampton University where she published her first short story called “Don't Tell Daddy”. This was the first time she wrote about the tragedy and triumph of the childhood trauma she experienced.

She uses her gift of storytelling in her blog (www.shanyirobinson.com) where she encourages believers and non-believers to become who they have been called to be in Christ.

She is the host of The Modern Christian Podcast helping the lost and hurt walk their faith out in a modern world.

She is the owner of The Modern Christian Co, a Christian Apparel Line that makes edgy stylish apparel that sparks a conversation about Christ. She is New York born, New Jersey, and South Carolina bread and currently lives in Atlanta with her husband and three daughters.
